They say ‘money makes the world go round’, but do you know what makes the marketing world go round? What will make your marketing successful? You guessed it. Content.
We live in a content driven time and good content guarantees success. When you lack good content, your marketing campaigns will flop. Imagine watching all that money you spent on ads, promotions on different platforms and even in creating your awesome product, go down the drain, just because of mediocre or bad content.
Think about a movie you watched that you thought was overhyped and you most likely never want to watch again. You probably watched the trailer and got really excited about the movie, only for you to go to cinemas and your reaction is “Really? Is this it? Is that all?” and then you’re angry you wasted 2 hours of your precious time (that’s if you even sat through the whole movie).
Why couldn’t they keep you excited and turn you into a brand advocate? Because of poor/mediocre content. Now the only thing you’re going to do is advise people not to waste their time watching the movie, instead of the opposite. Sad.
Let’s look at another example. Imagine your business website has poor content, no matter how much you spend on SEO (and you’re definitely going to spend a lot), it’s going to be extremely difficult for you to rank on Google, and if you miraculously eventually do, your bounce rate will be very high.
Your email marketing, social media campaigns, will not work if your content is not capturing the attention, engaging or connecting with your audience. Even if your product is the best in the world, if you cannot communicate it in the best way to your audience, you just won’t sell anything.
Do you see why we say content makes the marketing world go round? Nothing goes right without good content. It’s like intentionally putting your money in a toilet and trying to flush it.
You, my dear friend, have to strive hard to ensure you produce the right content because the competition is fierce! Today, everyone is marketing their business and those who are doing it right are getting your potential customers too. You need to grab their attention and you can’t do that without the right, good content. And not just good content, good content marketing.
